Photography allows me to express my passion for nature and creating. It is very rewarding for me to create art that expresses a mood or feeling about a scene in nature. Painters have always inspired me and Claude Monet is my biggest inspiration. He had a great ability to use color and texture to express a mood.
Art is about exploration, expression, and discovery. My Impressionism series is about how I explore and see new places in the forest. It is directly inspired by Monet’s early impressionism paintings. I see the unmoving nature is living and breathing. I am using his impressionistic style to show that nature is alive with colors and texture, feelings and growth. It’s not just stagnant, it is ever changing.
