Pawel Matyka (born May 25, 1961 in Tarnobrzeg) – Polish artist photographer, honored with the title of Artiste FIAP (AFIAP). Real member and Artist of the Photoclub of the Republic of Poland (AFRP). Member of the Board of the Tarnobrzeg Photographic Society.
He lives and works in Tarnobrzeg. He is a graduate of the Tarnobrzeg High School Nicolaus Copernicus. He is the author and co-author of many photo exhibitions; individual (including those under the patronage of the Polish Photoclub), collective, post-open-air, post-competition. He actively participated in the International Photographic Salons, organized (among others) under the auspices of the FIAP, winning many approvals, distinctions, diplomas and congratulatory letters. Pawel Matyka's works have been presented in many European and Asian countries (including England, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Yugoslavia, Qatar, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates). He published his photographs many times (among others) in the specialized press "Photography", "Photo", "Photo Courier", "Photo File", "Digital Photography", "Photo Positive", "Photographic Bulletin", "PSA Journal "," Réponses Photo ".
He has been photographing famous people since 1998 actresses and film and theater actors participating in the annual event – Theater Drama in Tarnobrzeg, which resulted in the 2014 photo album "Faces of Drams in the lens of Pawel Matyka" and the author's exhibition "Portrait in the theater frame" from 2012. A special place in his work deals with photography in light painting technique and nude photography.
Every year, he successfully presents his photographs at the exhibitions of the Podkarpackie Photographic Confrontations and the International Unconventional Photographic Competition Phototlot – at the WDK Gallery in Rzeszów. In the years 2010–2012 he was a member of the jury at the International Photo Games of the Photo Games organized by the Baltic Photographic Society. In 2014, he was a member of the jury in the national photo competition "Roadside Sign of Faith." He is the author of photos for the photo albums "Photography in retrospective" (2011) and "Faces of Drama in the lens of Pawel Matyka" (2014) and co-author of photos for the album "Barbórkowa Theater Drama (1998–2007) He is a participant (host) of many meetings and photographic workshops.
In 2010 he was admitted as a real member of the Photoclub of the Polish Association of Artists. By decision of the Professional Qualifications Committee of the Polish Photoclub, he received a diploma confirming the qualifications to pursue the profession of photographer, photographer (ID no. 261). In 2013, he was awarded the title of Artiste FIAP (AFIAP), awarded by the International Federation of Photographic Art FIAP. In 2013, he received a congratulatory letter from the President of Tarnobrzeg.
Pawel Matyka's works were presented in the Almanac (1995–2017), published by the Photoclub of the Republic of Poland Stowarzyszenie Twórców, in 2017. In 2018, he was awarded the Medal of Merit for Polish Photography – a distinction awarded by the Chapter of the Photoclub of the Polish Association of Artists – on the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence (1918–2018). In 2019, nominated by the Editorial Board of Echo Dnia for the title of Man of the Year 2018 – winner of 3 places in the Culture category.
