About
Nina Reistad is a photographic artist, born in Oslo, Norway, and now based in Mijas Pueblo, Spain.
She gained an early interest in photography and saved up for her first camera at the age of 7.
Her professional career began as a freelance photographer for the music papers at the age of 16, and 3 years later she started her own business working for newspapers, magazines - and later commercial studiowork in advertising.
She had her own photographic studio in Oslo until 2004, and then she buildt a studio on her property at her home outside Oslo, until everything was sold in 2010 to start a new adventure in Mijas, Spain.
Her drive has always been the passion for fine art photography, and working on her own personal projects and exhibitions. She has exhibited in some of the major galleries in Norway, and lately she has also participated in exhibitions in Spain; Mijas, Marbella and
Fuengirola.
Animals are a great source of inspiration for her and she has recieved several awards for her warm, lively animal portraits.. She made an immediate impact when she together with famous norwegian writer Unni Lindell in 2003, published the book «PASS OPP! HER KOMMER GUD OG HUN ER EN KATT»/ "LOOK OUT! HERE COMES GOD, AND
SHE´S A CAT".
Other motives Nina gets inspired by are nature and architecture. She used to love working in the darkroom, but since the digital revolution, Photoshop has taken over the darkroom.
