About

PHOTOGRAPHY IS MY LIFE’S PASSION

Over thirty five years ago, my mother gave me a book of Ansel Adams’ portfolios as a Christmas gift. Having grown up in Phoenix, Arizona, I appreciated his images of the west. Owning a 35 mm camera at the time, I took a couple of photography classes at the local community college and my passion for the medium was born. The technical aspects of the cameras, films and print making in the darkroom appealed to my sense of discipline and detail; finding the images indulges my love of a great road trip.

Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Harry Callahan, Brett Weston, Walker Evans, Edward Hopper and Jackson Pollack are all influences and I’ve taken workshops with and admire the work of John Sexton and Bruce Barnbaum.

My photographs have been exhibited at Picture Perfect Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona and Photography West Gallery in Carmel, California.

B&W Magazine awarded their Merit Award to my photograph “Porch Light” in their February 2009 Single Image Issue.

The Marie Louise Trichet Gallery at Wisdom House in Litchfield, Connecticut. exhibited a series of my work in 2010 and developed a visual meditation video using the images.

Boston Art, an art consulting firm located in Boston, Massachusetts.

Suprise City Hall, Suprise, Arizona.

I retired after 35 years in the construction industry to pursue photography full time.
