How did you get interested in photography?
My interest for photography started at the age of seventeen when my father bought me my first camera. I wrote poetry and short stories at the time, but I was also searching for a way to express myself visually. I had no talent for either painting of drawing, so when I tried my camera for the first time, I immediately knew that I wanted to pursue a career in photography.

Do you have an artistic/photographic background?
Yes, I have studied fine art photography under professor Robert Meyer at Robert Meyer Kunsthøgskole in Oslo, and I have also had an internship as a photographer in a news paper.

Which artist/photographer inspired your art?
I have had a fascination for Sally Mann’s work since I was very young, and I believe that this fascination has influenced my sown work.

How much preparation do you put into taking a photograph?
I spend weeks preparing a shoot. I draw sketches and make notes about location, settings and post-production. I often make my own props, which is also quite time consuming.

Could you please tell us something about your technique and creating process?
At the moment I use a Canon 5d mark ii, with a vintage style Petzval 85 mm brass lens or my Canon 50 mm 1.4. I often use long exposure and different fabrics in order to achieve an interesting movement in my images. By using an ND-filter I can use a large aperture together with the long exposure. I always print my images on Hahnemühle fine art paper

What do you do in your life besides photography?
When I am not photographing I spend my time with my husband and two children, and I go for long walks in the woods with my dog.

What future plans do you have? What projects would you like to accomplish?
I would really like to have another exhibition, and I am also planning my second book.
