Pietro Canali has been a professional photographer since 2005. His first forays into photography began when he discovered a 1950s Rolleiflex that had belonged to his grandfather. Since then, his love for nature and the outdoors has informed his personal interpretation of the places he photographs.
His mentors on his creative path are the naturalist photographers of the American school and their use of light as language.
Based between his hometown in Umbria, Italy and Montreal, Canada, he travels extensively to constantly create new travel and landscape imagery.
His work is regularly published worldwide in the most prestigious names of travel industry and his pictures have graced the cover of National Geographic Traveler, Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, The Sunday Times, Condé Nast Traveler, Fodors Guides, Thomas Cook Guides, Geo, Insight Guides, Rick Steve's Guide, Country Life, Bell'Italia.
