About
Philip Metcalf is a landscape photographer who shoots in black & white infrared. His work has appeared in various juried shows, including the "Art of Photography" in 2013 at the San Diego Art Institute. He was a nominee in the 2013 Black & White Spider Awards. On August 10, 2014, his work was featured on "Lenscratch." One of his photos was selected for the cover of "Black & White" Magazine's Portfolio Issue (#104), August, 2014, in which he was also a Merit Award winner. His work is included in the Art Photo Index, a project of PhotoEye Gallery.
Born in New York State, a graduate of Princeton University, he and his wife, photographer Patricia Galagan (www.patriciagalaganphotography.com) live in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

"Fire Ghosts" -- all of the images in this portfolio were taken to record the rare and exceptional beauty caused by New Mexico's Las Conchas forest fire in 2011.
