Marco Cardelli

About

Photographer today known and appreciated in particular in advertising, Marco Cardelli was born June 19, 1954 in Lucca. Always attracted by everything that has to do with the image and the visual arts approaches to photography at a very young age.

Eclectic and versatile, always looking for new emotions, in the 70s did not hesitate to leave Italy and to gain experience abroad as a photojournalist for a previously known music magazine, where he had the opportunity to photograph among others, Frank Zappa and Pink Floyd. In the 90s the passion for photography goes together with his interest for theater and makes him follow and document numerous theatrical productions.

Deeply impressed by the photography of Richard Avedon and Irving Penn decides to refine his technical knowledge and to become a professional photographer.

In the mid '90s he opened his own studio. The still life fashion photography is the genre that appeals to him more, and through which he feels he can best express his personality, by capitalizing on the skills acquired and on artistic sensitivity gained by studying the works of great photographers and painters.

Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto del Carlo, Furla, Marco Bicego are just some of the biggest names in fashion whom he works for.

In his photographs, cultured and refined, he is constantly looking to capture the essence of objects, which isolated from the visual noise and confusion , express through the light, their intimate nature.

In 1998 he was selected for a prestigious edition of Lurzer's Archive Special - Advertising Photography, the only Italian to be published.

Together with commercial work,he always carries on a careful and personal research , experiencing the many expressive possibilities of his own artistic sensibility.
