Giannis Papanikos is a freelance photojournalist based in Greece. He was born and raised in Thessaloniki. In 2011 he started attending photography lessons at the "Stereosis" School of Photography in Thessaloniki. At the same time, he started his photojournalism career doing assignments for an environmental free press magazine and photographing art festivals and theatrical performances. In 2012 he started working on his first project called "Trisomy 21" photographing people with Down Syndrome with the cooperation of the Hellenic Down Syndrome Association. He has also worked in many travel photography projects and he has taken part in group exhibitions organized by "Stereosis" School of Photography. His work has been published in Greek and foreign media.
