David Christian Rehor was born in 1970 in Virginia where he gained influence from Southern photographers including Sally Mann, Emmet Gowin and Clarence John Laughlin. David went on to graduate from The Corcoran School of Art, Washington DC, with a BFA in Photography, and additional studies from The Maryland Institute College of Art and Virginia Commonwealth University.
David is drawn to portraiture; experimenting with simple continuous lighting sources and long exposures, mostly at night. His subjects appear semi-transparent, both corporeal and ethereal, in a state of existence that is neither here nor there. Currently he is working on a project with reference to light pollution.
