About

Bernd Walz, born 1948, studied biology and chemistry and obtained his PhD at the University of Heidelberg. He worked as a scientist and professor for zoology and animal physiology for more than 35 years. Photography, particularly microphotography accompanied his whole professional life.
Downstream 2006 photography became a real passion, a creative and artistic counterweight to his scientific work. Recently Bernd Walz concentrated more and more on fine-art landscape photography and on abstract microphotography. In both genres he is exploring the artistic possibilities of a sometimes extremely minimalistic approach. Please visit my webpage for more images and my abstract work.
